It was a normal boring day at Brooks Highschool we were just doing work when we got an announcement saying code black which is code for lockdown. My teacher quickly locked the door and shut the curtains on the windows and I heard the other teachers rush out into the foyer to lock the doors I thought to myself AWESOME no work I was always like that whenever the fire alarm went off but I knew it could be serious and I had to be sensible and listen to my teacher incase something bad happened. Everyone sat at their desks while I sat on a bench seat which was closest to the door and I tried to look out of the window on the door to see if I could see anyone on the school grounds through the foyer windows but nothing the window was covered to much. I wasn’t scared im not scared of anything but it was that quite the quietist iv ever heard our grade block it felt scary and freaky but i kept my cool I tried listening for any noises and voices but everyone was talking quietly so that wasn’t any help. I tried listening for noises of forced but nothing not a single sound I thought something bad is obviously going on but where? Is it on the school grounds? Are we in danger? all kinds of questions kept going round in my head. After a while we got the all clear and went about our day at lunch rumors were going round saying that some idiot in our grade who I hated held the assistant principal up at knife point and he had a list of people he wanted to kill including one of my friends. I think he was expelled and ever since then we never had another lockdown not even after we graduated and from this day I know my old highschool is a safe and secure place for anyone to attend and in the event of a lockdown staff are always prepared and students will be safe.
