After a tiring drive through misty areas , the group escaped , only to find that they are back at the door of room 3046 . They realized that the only way to escape is to survive until dawn . Soon they were confronted by Sonia whom Achint and Neel thought was a ghost , but the tearful Sonia told them that it was actually her. They group learned that when the hotel was a mental asylum , a possessed girl named Maya was admitted after she murdered her whole family. Maya would always claim to had ‘married a devil’ and would become very violent at the hospital ; even killing the doctors . The fire that broke out killed all the inmates. The group realized that it is Maya who is terrorizing them. Sonia tried to contact Maya to find what she wanted , she got a call from Maya , saying that the spirit wants to kill them all, nothing else . The terrified group discovered that it is Maya who is speaking to them through Sonia . Neena asked the time from Neel , only to be told that it is the same time ( 3:55 AM) she had seen on the clock in one of the rooms shortly after entering the hotel . Believing it as some kind of intuition , they decided to go back to room no. 3046 . There they found a book containing paranormal explanation and a way to locate the energy source of dark spirit . With the help of incantations from the book , they had a vision of past . They saw that the hotel was a mental asylum and found that the energy source of the dark spirit is a shock machine. They decided to burn it down to end the horror . Neel and Maggie went to the kitchen in search of something flammable . Maggie saw a female spirit sitting on a chair and reading newspaper. When she reached to her , Neel again brushed her aside . Maggie was killed by Maya who appeared in the form of Neel . Achint was beheaded by the spirit , leaving only Neel and Neena alive . Neel tried to burn the machine but was pulled by the ghost spirit into a closet . The spirit starts terrorizing Neena. Neena starts a fire. The spirit attacked on her many times and with the help of the spirit of the owner Vikrant Narula , Neena managed to burn the machine . This resulted in the destruction of Maya’s spirit . This horror ended with the entrance door opening at the dawn and Neena ; the only survivor , walking outside
